"The tricky traders over at B-Music and Finders Keepers are rumoured to have something to do with this release - and its one of the most baffling and brilliantly infuriating records in either label's extensive catalogues. The disc comprises of 16 tracks of prime surf rock, tough funk and psychedelic oddities rescued from obscurity and "Maximised, marmalised, shredded and preserved by Tandy Love & Mad Smooth". The infuriating part is that any info associated to this release is scrambled beyond recognition, with the pair of selectors taking the DJ's tradition of obscuring names and record labels for sets to the nth degree by mushing the names of the artists into anagrammatical formations.
Any brave souls willing to test their psyche knowledge are setting themselves a heavy task if they come up against this formidable release! For starters try the first cut from Vandal Cock 'Imp Girl', a slow and sleazy psyche jam with prowling basslines and fuzz backed wah wah guitar, or Gary Cole and His G.T Hobo's 'Baa Laughter', a freaky surf rock roller with unhinged laughter and strange electronics. There's plenty more juicy psyche from I Kavalier 'Stun Gun Mao', Eileen Jawsin's incredible epic 'Gentle Onto God' and Alain Fish's urgent discorock meets electronics 'Alias Earth-Lab'. Of course, giving you the names is useless, because they're highly misleading, but you could easily kill a few hours trying to work out who they are. In the words of David Holmes this is "Gucking Fenius!". Highly recommended!"
