"Better known as one of the voices in Nouvelle Vague, Phoebe launches one of the most startling & captivating debut albums of the year. From the beginning Phoebe Killdeer wanted to write and create her own music. At a young age, she was already listening to what would become her main influences: Tom Waits, Art Of Noise, Yma Sumac, Nick Cave, Carmen McRae. Soon she started to write and sing her own compositions, and collaborat on various projects with Bang Gang, Basement Jaxx, True Stories, Ernest Saint Laurent and zero dB, amongst others. Later she takes part in Marc Collin's project, Nouvelle Vague's second album 'Bande à Part'. Its success will bring her to tour around the world for three years. Straight away the public is captivated by the unusual voice, strong personality and great stage presence of Phoebe Killdeer. The debut album was recorded with Marc Collin and mixed by Oz Fritz in San Francisco. Fritz has worked with the likes of Iggy Pop and George Clinton but is probably best known for his long standing collaboration with Tom Waits which was symbolised when he won a Grammy Award for his work on Tom Waits' 'Mule Variations'."
